I have been training with a friend for about 4 months now. We have completed runs of up to 6 miles. About midway through, my foot feels as if it was falling asleep. Any thoughts on this. Thanks

Hi David,

My first thought would be to try loosening your laces and experiment with different lacing patterns. Often, too much tension across the top of the foot and front of the ankle can cause what you are experiencing. If that doesn't work, stretching the achilles/calf might help (compartment syndrome).

hey, my friend has a very similar problem. She has tried loosening her laces and it makes no difference. she also has had different shoes and it persists. but it doesn't always happen, usually just on longer runs on harder surfaces, like asphalt or cement.

I would recommend checking with a podiatrist or someone that can analyze foot placement and motion.
