I don't remember seeing this last year, but the IAAF has their scoring tables posted in PDF format now:

http://www.iaaf.org/downloads/scoringtables/

I believe they're based on the Hungarian tables, but with some modifications. If anyone cares to help look them over and crunch some numbers, we might be able to come with solid scoring calculations for some of the other events that haven't been contested in the first two Fantasy leagues.

Interesting numbers ... Not sure how you want to crunch numbers ... Not sure what these are based on ... I suppose the old Hungarian with mods ... They have the following sprint equivalents pointwise:

9.68
19.32
42.66
12.53 HH

and in the real world

9.90
19.85
43.91
13.03 HH

Seems fairly on to me ... Not that I am the expert but seems to be within reason ... For example I think Greene could have run 9.68 when fit and healthy ... His double in 99 was 9.80 19.90 ... Ball park numbers to the list ... Especially given that he has always been better at 100 ... A fit Boldon has one day doubled at 9.90 19.77 ...

Jusst thinking out loud ..

MO's best one-day double under any condititons is 9.79w & 19.88w from the 1998 Prefontaine Classic.
It was the first and only time he has ever beat MJ in the 200m.

I can't remember what MO's best 'legal' one day double is...
I think it's 9.79s & 20.03s from Athens Grand Prix II in 1999.

The idea would be to come up with some automatic scoring equations that yielded fair performance points for the events we couldn't previously come up with good ones for. I'd have to dig up the old mega thread in this forum to see which ones those were... We're good on all the flat running events, the men's high hurdles, long jump, and pole vault, and the women's triple jump and high jump, as I recall. Everything else is a question mark.

Here's the best multi-event scoring info I found:

http://www.cs.uml.edu/~phoffman/mod8.html

If equations could be tweaked based on the IAAF Scoring Tables, that would at least get us the men's SP, Discus, Jav, and HJ, and the women's equivalent hep events.

Dunno if there's anything out there to pick up the 400h, steeple, women's vault, etc. Confused

Actually, I think it was the women's LJ we had close, not the TJ.

That's a good website. Check out the Wind conversions.

Actually Mo beat MJ quite a few times ... As amatter of fact he beat him in Eugene 2 or 3 years in a row alone ...

Mo and Hayward Field got along quite well in the 200m.

Thanks Conway. I never knew that Mo beat MJ several times.
That's just made my day! LOL!
