I haven't checked them out yet, actually. I typically have all the multimedia players uninstalled on my computer for various reasons. The computer I just switched over to a couple weeks ago has the necessary stuff installed, so I ought to take a look soon...

OK.
E-mail Los.
The guy who actually put the provides the 'idx Videos'.
I have contacted him already to point out to him that some videos will not work for people. And he said he will fix them if needed.
los@idx.com.au
I mailed him with my problems, and he sent me the video, and it worked fine. _________________ Doubt whom you will, But never yourself.

its Los here, X King has advised me that some of you have had problems with the downloads from my site.
I am going to check them all now, might take me a little bit of time to go through them all as I am on a dial-up.
Ill prob post some others that I have once I have checked them all.
Conway: the error you would be receiving would be because the file has not downloaded fully, ie it is corrupted. You have to make sure that the file has been completely downloaded. Windows often cuts off downloading mid way through for some unknown reason, this could be it, especially if the computer is left idle, windows just cuts downloading due to inactivity.
I will inform you has i go through each link to make sure it works.
I can post how big the files are so that you know when you download them if it the zip files are complete.
Also, make sure you 'right-click- target and 'save as'.
Tim Montgomery’s 9.78s Men’s 100m WR:
http://los.idx.com.au/100mwr.zip (6.05mb)
Edmonton '01 WCH Men's 100m Final:
http://los.idx.com.au/wc01_100m.zip (6.51mb)
Edmonton '01 WCH Men's 100m Final (slow mo replay)
http://los.idx.com.au/wc01_100m_slow.zip (7.52mb)
Edmonton '01 WCH Men's 100m Final (Maurice slow mo replay)
http://los.idx.com.au/wc100m_mo_slow.zip (8.17mb)
Edmonton '01 WCH Men's 100m Semi-Final 1:
http://los.idx.com.au/100m_semi.zip (5.70mb)
These links have been tested and all work once fully downloaded. Unzip the files and enjoy! |

Thanks for checking in. As soon as I take a look at some of the videos, I'll give you whatever feedback I can.

I have a high speed connection and typically I don't download files to my computer ... I usually open them and play them ... Which I can't do with any oth these files ... Sounds like you are saying the only way to play them is to download them first ... _________________ Conway

Looks like most of the movies are zip files, which would need to be downloaded and unzipped before being useable. Although, Win XP with its new built-in (and highly annoying and even more difficult to disable) zip/compression support may be able to work with them as-is through the browser.
The *.mov files I can't open, so I must not have the proper software to handle them.

That may be the problem, as my family computer is Win XP. _________________ Doubt whom you will, But never yourself.

When, and if you do manage to download any of the 'idx' videos,
go to your 'Virus Checks' folder and have a look. _________________ Doubt whom you will, But never yourself.

I have Win XP, and it seems as thought that could be the problem as such. It appears as if you do have to download the files. I can assure you there are no virus problems with the files. But download them and do a virus check. |
