What do you mean? I agree some past GP finals were somewhat disappointing (particularly in 2000, when the timing was really awkward), but surely not last year's? And I don't mean just Montgomery's WR... Check out the results at http://www2.iaaf.org/GP02/GPFParis/Results/Paris.txt - you will find that almost all the world's best did compete. And starting this year, it should be an even bigger event, since it will now include all standard events, rather than just half of them each year. |

Maybe it was 2001 that was the laughable showing with the 15 minute 5k group jog and numerous no-shows?
The whole idea of a "Final" that isn't really a championship of any sort and that follows what everyone deems the actual championship (WC or OG) is supremely flawed in concept and will always be subject to the fickleness of what athletes feel like doing that week. There's a reason why no one watches the NFL's Pro Bowl... The quasi-Final is such a bad concept -- and it says a lot when a bad idea stands out boldly among bad ideas -- I honestly don't even want to consider supporting it in any way, shape, or form, and that goes for the Fantasy League.

Yeah, but that was a given. 
I only have one scorer, and that's a slow 3rd place showing from Torri Edwards...
Any guesses if the Women's 100m will have a final like the men's, or will it remain two finals heats? The reason I mention it is because it will affect 8th place...

Well that was not a great meet for the Fighting Warthogs. Johnson gets a win but Block only got 4th and no one else competed. Meb was 20 sec back in the 5K but I read somewhere that he was running the marathon at Worlds. That should be interesting.

We'll see how things shake out once I get the results in and scored, but I'm guessing there won't be much movement in the standings after this meet. Not enough scoring to go round.
