I just read El G is slated to run the 5K in Ostrava? Does this mean he should be added to the Fantasy tables for that event? Do we even know that this news story is accurate? _________________ Jason Kotenko

He's announced his intentions of running the 5k several times now, and it's yet to materialize...
Even if he does run that particular 5k, I don't think it's worth adding him to the Fantasy League in the event. Very unlikely he would run it enough to be worth selecting.

You also would have the unfortunate responsibility of trying to set a value to him for that event... considering he never ran it before at this level, but also considering his calibre as a runner... probably would be easier if he just stuck to the 1500. _________________ Jason Kotenko

another quck appendix to my first post:
"...At the Olympics I want to double at 1500m and 5000m.”
Could this season be his training for such a pursuit? _________________ Jason Kotenko

I believe he first stated that goal prior to Sydney, then backed off at the last moment. I'll believe it when I see it.

Doubling would be very difficult of ElG as the current crop of 5000 runners is very strong ... Not the same as when Vassala and others used to attempt this ... I would be more concerned about a few of the 1500 runners sitting on his shoulder ... _________________ Conway

Exactly. I don't see him attempting the double until he achieves the 1500m chamionship success that has eluded him for the most part.
