Just guess, you'll do better than most of us did last year... Rolling Eyes

Hi,
I'm new to this fantasy league. Just wondering if you can change your roster once the meets start at the end of June or if you have to keep that roster throughout the season.

We had talked about putting together a system that allowed roster changes, but I decided that's more work than I care to tackle at this time, so it's been put on the back burner for this year. Still a possibility for future contests, though.

It would appear to be based purely on results and performance. If so, why wouldn't everybody spend their 52000? I must be missing something.

Do you mean the current "leader board"? Everyone has zero points until the first meet is scored, so it's simply descending order by cash available (the tie breaker criteria). Most people will spend as close to the limit as possible, but no one wants to tip their hat this early. Wink

No I was referring to last year's results where people weren't spending their entire limit.

Oh, I have no idea why people would have done that. Got tired of guessing??? Confused

We are talking significant numbers in some cases. You left a few bucks on the table for example.

Actually, you caught a little programmatical goof that I hadn't noticed. Last year's spending limit was 44,800. This year's contest and last year's feed off of the same configuration setup, and I hadn't thought to add a separate available cash variable for the two years for historical purposes... It would have actually been a fair amount of work to add that in after the fact. The roster displays calculate amount unspent by subtracting the amount spent from the amount available, so last year's numbers will show 7200 extra unspent, if I'm not mistaken.

Ok-now that makes sense. Although the second place guy still left almost 6000 on the table.

All the more impressive! Not really surprising, though. The toughest part of the contest is sifting through the potential, keeping in mind that the IAAF ranks/purchase prices are based on all meets, not just those contested in the Fantasy League. If you look through last year's rosters, you'll see a lot of non-scoring athletes...

Made my first adjustment today. Dropped Jacobs in favor of David Krumannacher. I think that will be a significant improvement.

One more change. Deleted Yegarova and put in Kelly Holmes. I only have 150 points left. Can I put myself on my team for that? Very Happy
