Well, I survived the Cancer scare, but Friday at noon, my house burned to the ground. Sad

The kids and I are OK, and the red cross has put us up, and bought us new cloths, and are keeping us fed. Neutral

I decided to come into work and make up lists of everything we can think of that was in the houe. I admit I completly lost it when I remembered all the race shirts I had been saving, my shoes, running cloths, etc.. Crying or Very sad My first year back, and everyting gone in a flash.. Sad

The important thing is that the kids and I are OK, and I had good insurance on the house and contents. I will know more Monday or Tuesday.

All I could think of on Saturday, was how darn bad I wanted to just go run, and keep going forever Confused

Its too cold, and I have no running shoes. If I replace nothing else of my own (the kids stuff comes first), it will be my running stuff.

Take care all, and I hope to be in contact again within a week.

Garrett

Oh man, that's scraping the bottom of the barrel of bad luck. Sad I've been through the same situation, although I was only 1 or 2 at the time and don't remember it first-hand... Sorry to hear this has happened to you. Try to keep the chin up and we'll all be pulling for you.

That's tough. I am glad to hear that you and the family made it out alright. And having insurance should help replace the material stuff. Like MW said if there's anything we can do let us know.

I can see that life has been a real roller coaster ride this winter. I hope this is it for your latest string of nasty events. I hope you can get things sorted out with the the insurance quickly. How old are your kids?? These things are hard for young ones to comprehend.

stay in touch

Came in here to type up contents lists for the insurance adjuster.

The kids are older, 24 and 18, but they are still in shock.

We move into a rented and furnished town house tomorrow.

I have walked thru the remains a couple of times, and it is heart breaking to say the least.

Well, back to the list, and I hope to post somthing Friday or Monday.

Yep ... The very same one ... Sad .. But pales in comparison to what Ranger is going thru ... Did have a lot of unreplaceable stuff on it ... But a home is something else entirely ... My heart goes out to the Ranger's family ...

Well folks, there is an upside to everthing...so here I go! Surprised

We are in a nice town house 4 miles from my home, the adjusters are done and I am covered 120% on structure, and all contents. Smile

Other runners are trying to replace my race T's, and "someone" arranged to replace all my running stuff so I could keep training for the Tyler Trail Run. A guy I never saw before stopped and handed me an evelope stuffed with cash. He told me he was a middle man for someone I run benifit races with. It replaced all my running cloths and shoes with top of the line stuff! Very Happy

All our needs are being met, and I am on my "After The Fire" Tour! Rolling Eyes

I am amazed at the outpouring of assistance from friends, coworkers, family and complete strangers!

I will keep you posted and try and send Dan some pics as soon as I can.

Oh yea, Dan...my running friends took me out Friday to my favorite "artist", and "it" (the stick runner guy) is now part of me forever! They call it therapy HA! I hate to see what will happen when they take me out for beer next Friday Surprised

Thanks for all your concern, and I hope to be back on a regular basis soon!
