what do you do when your coach doesnt know how to train very well?????

I don't suppose finding a coach is a new option? It depends a lot on your situation. If you're in high school, you're pretty much stuck with the coach and might as well make the best of it. Any coach should be receptive to their athlete's needs and be willing to seek/allow outside help or just talk through what needs to be done with the training. If you are in college, if running is serious to you, you can look into transferring. If you are post-collegiate, coaching is likely club based and you can look toward other similar sources. There are also lots of online coaching services being offered these days.
