Recently John McEnroe's ex-wife accused him of using steriods. Does anyone believe her? While 'riods would explain much of the McEnroe court rage, he sure wasn't a physically impossing guy (like many of todays baseball players are). Also, I only got to watch him play towards the end of his career and I don't recall him being noteably strong or over powering. My money says he was taking vitamins or something else legal and his wife either doesn't know what she's talking about or is out to drag his name through the mud.

I didn't hear anything about the steroid accusations, just the abuse and what not. Given that it sounds like she was on drugs (non-performance enhancing) for much of the past decade and has only been clean the past 3 months, I wouldn't put much stock into such statements.

Also, keep in mind that steroids are not a muscle builder, per se. They increase the rate of recovery, which allows one to train harder and more frequently. If the training being done is power related, then they will help build muscle. In endurance activities (such as the race walker recently busted), they would not likely lead to bulking up.

Navralilova, on the other hand, that would be a completely different story.
