no one will ever run a marathon in an hour unless we all turn into robots or use some other mechanical mechanism _________________ Shaun Fox |

30 seconds; 60 seconds; 5 minutes; and 15 minutes on track
15 minutes, 30 minutes, and one hour off track -- road races
Realistic? The 30 seconds and 60 seconds races are unrealistic. Even the 5 minutes race could be too close too call.
I think that the most realistic would be a 15 minute-race (both 15-minute races).
I believe that the (WeeQuaHic) Weequahic Lake Park in Newark (and Irvington, Essex County), New Jersey, would be a perfect place to stage such a race. It has a quick, but tough course with artificial surface. It is about 2.2 miles long or pretty close to 3.54 kilometers.
1st cut--off point:
Any participant who would not reach the finish line of the first loop in 15 minutes would have to step off the course. Any body else would be allowed to continue running until the last cut--off point.
2nd cut--off point:
Any participant who would not reach the finish--plus--0.5_K (circa 4.04 K) line of the first loop in 15 minutes would have to step off the course. Any body else would be allowed to continue running until 15 minutes expire. _________________ http://vincovitanj.tripod.com/Do_not_be_a_victim1/index.htmlhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u43o595CARQ
