You would really need to talk to the coach at your school or someone on the team, as I can only venture a guess... I'd be very surprised if a cross country team did not accept everyone interested in joining. It is the type of sport that 10 people are about as easy to coach as 2, and they cause little additional cost. As long as your school has a JV (Junior Varsity) team, there should not be an issue.

However, the one limitation might be on the size of travel squads for away meets. That comes down to the size of the team and the size of the budget.

Yes, everyone can run. My team had around 65 runners this fall, but not everyone can run Varsity. I believe only 7 are allowed to run on Varsity for some races, including Invitationals. But you can definately run JV if you are not fast enough.

Im my league, there is the Frosh/Soph division. This is just like it sounds, all Freshmen and Sophomores run. Then there is Varsity, which is the best division. Then there is JV, which consists of Juniors and Seniors who didn't make Varsity. So actually, Frosh/Soph is usually faster than JV in my league.

Our league (and the entire state, as far as I know) only had JV and Varsity, but I never heard of any limitations on the size of JV squads.
